Update 1 – Friday, 14 March 2025, 11:53am
Sunwater is upgrading the fencing on the Wuruma Dam wall.
Work is expected to start in the week commencing 17 March 2025 for a period of approximately seven weeks, weather and construction conditions permitting.
The dam wall and access road will be temporarily closed to the public to allow the work to be carried out safely. Barricades will be installed to prevent access during this period.
Access to the lookout will be maintained by providing temporary alternative access via the campground area. An existing one-way road will be changed to a temporary, low speed, two-way access road. A parking area will also be made available at the lookout. Visitors are asked to use caution while driving to the new road conditions.
Camping facilities at the dam will not be impacted.
We apologise for any inconvenience this work might cause the community.
