Julius Dam is at 99.7% and no longer spilling excess water however, access roads and recreational facilities remain closed until further notice due to runoff water in the area.
If you are downstream of the dam, continue to avoid potential hazards and remember if it’s flooded, forget it.
An update will be issued if further rainfall in the catchment causes spilling to recommence.

Update 3 – Friday, 1 January 2021, 5:39pm
As Julius Dam is currently spilling water from excess rainfall, both the dam and access roads leading to the dam, including those from Mount Isa, are closed. Until the dam stops spilling and the access roads can be assessed, these will remain closed to the public.
Update 2 – Wednesday 23 December 2020, 7.00am
Julius Dam is at 104.1% capacity and spilling excess water.
If downstream of the dam, expect increased river flows and remember if it’s flooded, forget it.

Julius Dam is currently at 80.7% capacity and expected to spill excess water overnight due to rainfall in the catchment.
